Casino, User Experience »
Net Entertainment produce really good browser based casino software and is used by many online casinos.
The problem I see is that many of the online casinos using Net Entertainment’s games look very similar when it comes to displaying the games. I am sure that Net Entertainment supply some nice widgets and API’s for the online casinos to use but it looks like online casinos today just use what they get.
In the list of images below you see five online casinos (24hPoker, Bet24, BetClick, Betsafe, Betsson, NordicBet). Can you see place the right image with the right …

Image 1. iPhone multiplayer poker app
I’m starting a new personal project designing a iPhone poker app.
There are a few reasons for this:
I love my iPhone
I love playing poker
The big poker sites/networks don’t have any iPhone apps at the moment
An iPhone app for the big poker sites/networks could be a great addition to their for fun sites
So if any of the major poker sites/networks like PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker,PartyPoker, Everest Poker, IPN, Ongame and Microgaming would like to work together with me then please contact me!
You’ll be able to read about the project and progress here.

Image 1. Top 25 Facebook games in October. (by InsideSocialGames.com)
Games played on Facebook have a large user base and I believe it is because of their social features. Letting players play inside Facebook and/or on their iPhone insted of having to go play on a portal is the key.
For instance Zynga’s poker have more than 17 million active players, an increase with over 3 million compared to last month.
I’ve said it in many blog posts before but I’ll say it again :) It is time for operators and gaming developers …

Image 1. Everest Poker’s registration form.
Often poker players play on many different sites from time to time. You can help your players to start playing faster by letting them sign in using their e-mail address as their username.
Today I registered on Everest Poker and there I had to come up with a new username since my regular ones were already taken.
is much easier to remember your e-mail address than a username for a portal/poker site which you might not visit more than a couple of times a month or even …

Image 1. Damn Cool Poker.
Trebax Innovations has a product called DAMN SMALL POKER (DSP) which allows you to put a little interactive banner on your site.
The banner lets visitors play poker right on the page just having to give away their e-mail address.
At the end when the banner they promote a real poker site with sign up offers.
I see this is as another way of getting people to play where they want. Just imagine PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and all the rest of the poker sites having a small version …

Image 1. When will we see iPhone poker apps?
When will we see iPhone Apps from the big poker sites?
I know that you can’t play for money on iPhone Apps, but all major poker sites also have a “for fun” site (usually the same url as the normal site but “.net” insted). So why not make an iPhone App for your “for fun” site?
This would be good move for a number of reasons:
You will get knowledge on building iPhone Apps.
You will be able to attract players to play on your site …

Image 1. Folded cards shown on mouse over.
Being able to see what cards you’ve folded is a great feature in many poker clients today and it is interesting to see how the function has been implemented differently.
In the image above you see how PokerStars (left) and Full Tilt Poker’s (right) versions.
PokerStars implementation works better because the player see the cards right away and doesn’t have to think about what “3s” and “Th” means.
User experience needs to play a key role when adding new features (no matter how small they are) to your …

Image 1. bwin’s poker lobby.
bwin makes it easier for their players to quickly sit down and play!
One of the most annoying things when finding a table is that when you see it in the lobby there are seats empty but when you open up the table to sit down the seat is already taken.
bwin has a very cleaver solution to this problem. They offer players the possibility to select a seat right in the lobby making players be seated faster. This means they can start playing sooner. I think this …
