Social Feature – Time Defined Challenges!

Social gaming portals is the future, but how can you get people to visit you more often?

I believe in features giving players the opportunity to play with friends (even friends not already players on your portal) will be the key to have a successful social gaming portal. Gaming operators will need to focus a lot on this along with being where the players are (for instance on Facebook, Twitter and so on…).

Players want to be able to play when ever they feel like it.

One social feature I’ve been thinking about the last couple of days is how will it be possible to challenge and play with friends even though they aren’t online at the same time.

I call this feature ”Time Defined Challenges”.

An example of a ”Time Defined Challenge” is ”I challenge you to 100 rounds of Jacks or Better betting £0.10 each round. This challenge cost £5,50 and you can win £10 and has to be completed by midnight tomorrow the 15th of July. Do you accept this challenge?”.

If the player accept the challenge £5.50 is withdrawn from their account and the player with the best winnings after 100 rounds of Jacks or Better will win the £10.

This ”Time Defined Challenges” can be applied to almost all games and you can have a ”Time Defined Challanges” board where players can put up their challenge for everyone to see.

Social gaming features are fun and needs to be designed with the players and their goals in mind.
