PartyPoker Could Make It Easier For Mac Players!

Aug 7, 2009

PartyPoker (this used to be linked partypoker.com but bwin.party asked me to remove the link) can make it a lot easier for players using data on which operating system the players use.

Image 1. PartyPoker’s start page.

I am using a Mac and went to partypoker.com (this used to be linked partypoker.com but bwin.party asked me to remove the link) to play some poker, on the start page there is a huge button saying ”Download Now”. I clicked on the button expecting to download the poker client.

PartyPoker’s Instant Play page.

But it didn’t start to download the poker client, insted I was transferred to a page for PartyPoker’s Instant Play (this used to be linked partypoker.com but bwin.party asked me to remove the link) (a poker client you run in your browser). That would have been ok as long as PartyPoker would have told my why I was transferred to that page!

Since I wanted the download client I clicked on the ”Download Now” button once again but it only reloaded the page I was on. I really was confused now!

If you don’t offer a download client for the player don’t show the ”Download Now” button.

A much better solution would be to right on the start page just offer the Instant Play version and tell the player that the download version only is available for Windows players.

Below you see a fast modification to the start page for a Mac player.
